Dries van Dyck

I am Dries Van Dyck, an artist who, by my own account, was born with a pencil in my hand. Drawing has always been a part of my life, but a few years ago I discovered painting. On canvas, I found a way to express myself even more freely and bring emotions, thoughts, and stories to life.

In my work, I love to experiment and challenge myself. I enjoy switching between styles, techniques, and subjects because I believe that growth happens outside the comfort zone. Every new painting is a journey of discovery for me.

When I stand before a blank canvas, the world seems to stand still for a moment. Painting completely brings me into the present and gives me a peace I find nowhere else. I try to convey that experience to the viewer as well.

Currently, I am fascinated by female portraits. The strength, beauty, and especially the gaze of a woman inspire me enormously. I search for that one expression that tells more than words ever could. A gaze that raises questions, evokes emotions, and invites the viewer to linger.

My goal is not just to create beautiful images, but to make people slow down for a moment. To give them a moment where they don't have to think about anything, where they can simply look, feel, and be.
